September Calliarts - Bend it like Bernd with Cherrie Grant

 Dear Members and Followers,

This September sees us looking at the designs of Adolf Bernd, a German born in 1909.

Fans of his designs are attracted to modern letter forms with decorative elements. He didn't use masking fluid but got a similar effect and with water colours there is a fresh result.

His three main elements in his designs are:

  • Subtle colours.
  • White interlinear lines.
  • The patters in the surrounding areas.
