It is with a heavy heart that I advise that one of our dear Patrons, Fran McKirdy passed away yesterday, 31 May 2016.
 

For those of you who didn't know Fran, she was a lovely lady and a passionate calligrapher who will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Dear Members and Followers,

It is sad to hear that Herman Zapf, German typeface designer from Darmstadt, Germany has passed away. Married to Gudrun Zapf von Hesse, calligrapher and typeface designer, Herman was the creator of the famous Palatino and Optima typefaces.

A legacy for future calligraphers and lettering students, of all levels.
