Suddenly in hospital 1st
February 3rd 2017.
Dorothy commenced calligraphy classes
at Jannali Community College in 2003 and soon after joined CSS. Dorothy was a committee member (Library)
until her passing. Dorothy began her
professional life as a nurse at St George hospital. Dorothy and her husband Ted spent the early
years of their marriage in PNG, where their three children were born. The
family returned to Jannali in November 1957 and sometime later Dorothy was
widowed.
Dorothy resumed her nursing career,
undertaking permanent night duty and studied to achieve several nursing
certificates. She was later appointed
Assistant Director of Nursing at St George Hospital, and continued her lifelong
support of the Nursing Association.
Dorothy was also a valued member and several years ago was installed as
Grand Matron of the Eastern Star Association.
Dorothy outlived her son Donald (Dec
2010 ) and second husband Ted (Dec 2011 ). She is survived by her daughter
Gwen, son Raymond and their families.
She was a very loyal member of CSS,
participating in as many workshops and exhibitions as possible. Her bright eyed
smile will be greatly missed. RIP Dorothy.
